I remember browsing through social media a few months ago and spotting possibly the coolest pair of shoes I’d ever seen. I did some sniffing around and discovered these gorgeous pumps with the large bow detail at the ankle were made by Aminah Abdul Jillil so, naturally, I hopped onto the website and prepared to shop!
How does one possibly choose a color?! The shoe comes in a variety of different colors, and while something like black was such a solid, staple choice, the other colors were too beautiful to pass up. After much deliberation I decided to go with the light blush pair, which I figured were versatile enough for many different types of looks. Once they arrived, I quickly fell in love with these pretty pumps! But, of course, I couldn’t do with just one pair. I’m personally not a fan of buying the same thing in different colors, but in this case, it didn’t seem like I had any other choice! Thankfully, AAJ hooked a blogger up and sent me another pair in my color of choice: Cobalt. Guys, there is not a more stunning shoe in the world, trust me when I tell you! Though it’s the same shoe, the color just makes a world of difference. The blush is my conservative and pretty choice, but the blue is an absolute show stopper when I want to turn up the sass.
I happened to be all over town yesterday, from meetings to auditions and back to meetings, and I believe a total of 10 strangers stopped me to tell me how stunning my shoes were. And, really, my aim with this outfit was to show the versatility of the shoe: You can wear it with the obvious feminine skirts and dresses, but I went for a more everyday look that was super simple topped with a couple of jewel tone accessories that just kicked up the ‘wow’ factor.
Which brings me to my next topic of discussion! Boyfriend jeans. Love em or hate em, they’re everywhere. I love a good pair of boyfriend denim, but standing at a modest 5’3″ I find that most boyfriend styles swallow me up. I’m not just short, I’m also very petite all over! So to remedy the issue, I decided to take a different approach: Instead of buying jeans that are specifically marked ‘boyfriend,’ I go for the relaxed fit style and buy one size up. This way, I get the perfect slouchy boyfriend look without looking like I’m 12 and I’m wearing my dad’s jeans! It’s not overwhelmingly baggy, and the fit is extremely comfortable. My pick is the Zara relaxed fit, which is exactly what I’m wearing in the photos.
On any given day you’ll find me in a simple white top and jeans, but my bow pumps add just the right amount of jazz to my everyday look!
I had to include this last photo because that random orb on my bag is so cool! Kinda makes me sad it’s not on there all the time.
